Shipping promise window
The active dispatch interval a seller commits to before the next carrier cutoff or release wave changes which orders can still ship on time.
Why it matters
Shipping promise windows keep storefront expectations, warehouse queue rules, and cutoff decisions aligned so same-day promises are not silently carried into a later wave.
Example
A Shopify gloves seller promises same-day dispatch for paid orders before 3:00 PM, then resets later or overflow orders into the next outbound wave once the protected cutoff lane is full.
