Order-wave cutoff lane
A protected slice of paid orders that can still clear the current outbound cutoff if they are packed and handed off under a dedicated wave rule.
Why it matters
Order-wave cutoff lanes stop recoverable paid orders from being mixed with already-late carryover when live-commerce dispatch pressure spikes near the final handoff window.
Example
A live-commerce team marks all paid orders received before 4:10 PM that can still reach the 5:00 PM carrier handoff as one protected cutoff lane, while later or exception orders are moved into the next wave.
